J org distills premium-quality sun-ripened South Okanagan fruit, grapes and wine in-line with the tradition of his ancestors in Germany. Our small-batch artisan spirits have been winning national and international awards year after year. They are known for their authentic style, outstanding smooth aroma, and characteristic fruit flavour reminiscent of their European role models such as Cognac, Grappa, Pear Williams, Kirsch, Slivovitz or Calvados.

All-natural liqueurs created from these spirits are a bartenders’ secret for fruit cocktails, desserts, or simply served on ice. All Maple Leaf Spirits products are handcrafted, vegan, gluten free and made locally in Penticton on the world-renowned Naramata Bench.

O
ur 150-liter copper still with a top-mounted column was built by Ulrich Kothe in Southern Germany and designed for professional rectification. The free adjustable fluid level on the distillation plates allows Jorg to flexibly modify the alcohol content and aroma of the distilled mash. Jorg creates his fine spirits by sensory evaluation, a unique art for every batch and something that requires years of practice. He separates the “head” and “toe” and only keeps the middle part of the distillate which is clean and flavorful. Jorg brings his expertise to every element of the distillation process, ensuring a lovingly made and exceptional-quality product with each and every batch.

Jorg imported the still in 2005 after receiving his distilling license in April 2004 and acquiring his permits to start a licensed distillery in Penticton. Maple Leaf Spirits Inc. was recognized as a BC Craft Distillery in 2014 and is the oldest distillery in British Columbia still owned by the founders.
