Covid-19 Safety Plan for Visiting Guests – Maple Leaf Spirits Craft Distillery
Anette and Jorg Engel and staff are looking forward to welcoming guests back to our tasting room. Expect an enjoyable and informative tasting outdoors while we respect your personal space and refrain from all physical contact during your visit.
We are implementing a reservation model for tastings to ensure a safe and physically distant experience. Please go to our website to arrange for a tasting! Contact information for one person in each group, of up to 6, will be captured and retained for 30 days. We ask that you arrive on time for your appointment or call if you will be late. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may be lost and filled by waiting guests.
Walk-ins for tastings will be accepted if space is available and contact information will be captured and kept for 30 days.
Walk-ins for purchase only are of course welcome! You will be looked after as soon as one of us is free to do so.
We will be observing physical distancing at our property, especially on our patio.
Signage will be in place to remind guests to remain 2 meters from other groups at all times.
As per capacity rules, no more than 6 persons or 1 group, whichever is less, will be allowed at a time on our patio. Once tastings begin, guests will be guided to the tasting table for the safety of all.
New tasting procedure
Tastings will be conducted outside on our patio deck. On rainy days, bookings may be limited if we must find cover under umbrellas.
Tasting notes can be accessed from our website on your mobile device.
One server will be in contact with a group while physically distancing. After your tasting, we will take your orders. Please come to the tasting room door to complete your purchase.
Cleaning & Hygiene
Staff must wash their hands with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds at the start of each shift, after visiting the bathroom and before and after each break. We will be sanitizing the sales counter, outside deck tables & chairs, and payment terminals between guest visits throughout the day.
We provide hand sanitizer for staff and guests to sanitize their hands before and after their tasting.
Tap purchases are encouraged.
Staff may wear masks and gloves while working, and gloves will be disposed of after use.
Glassware for guests will be sanitized in our high heat commercial dishwasher. We will provide water in a jug for rinsing your tasting glass, or for drinking. There will be a table bucket to pour out the water after rinsing your glass.
Guests are encouraged not to handle any products unless purchased.
Communication Plans
Signs will be posted to inform guests of our capacity rules; no more than 6 persons will be allowed in the patio area. Staff will be diligently managing this.
Signs will remind guests of physical distancing, limiting touch points, & hand sanitizing upon entry to distillery tasting areas.
Signage advising guests who have travelled from outside Canada recently or who are displaying any visible symptoms (coughing, sneezing) will be advised not to visit the distillery.
Handwashing instruction signs will be displayed in the bathrooms and in staff areas.
Policies
Our staff has been instructed to stay home if they are not feeling well in any way. Staff will follow all isolation guidelines as directed by the Province.
Visitors who appear visibly ill (coughing, sneezing) will be asked to leave.
What we ask of you
If you are not feeling well, please do not visit! This is for the safety of everyone. We would love to see you but please come when you are feeling better… our spirits will taste better then as well!
Please use complimentary hand sanitizer when entering the tasting area.
We prefer you do not touch any of the display items… our staff is happy to assist you!
Please respect physical distancing regulations and remain 2 meters apart from other persons anywhere on the property, even by the pheasant cages!
You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy using the benches in our grassy picnic area only. We ask that you enjoy our beautiful view for no more than an hour and that you pack everything away with you when you leave. Each party must respect the capacity rules for this area and the seating as it is arranged.
We are extremely grateful for the continued support of our guests and local community and look forward to your in-person visit this summer.
Stay safe and healthy – and in good spirits!
